My Thoughts
The design is a standalone Romance novel, book 2 of The Heart series.
If you have read the first book of the Heart series, The
Duet , you will know that Camron Heart who goes by the nickname Cammie, is the younger
sister of the popstar, Brooklyn Heart. Grayson
Cole is the owner of the architecture firm where she has got an interview
for the position of an architect associate. The story
starts off chaotic but eventally she reaches the office and is nervous after watching women go in the interview feeling one way and utterly distraught coming
out , but she does not let this affect her. Chaos and clumsy seem to be Cammie’s
middle names.
"what's your sexual orientation?"
"Are you currently taking birth control?"
"what was the last day of your menstrual cycle?"
I blanched. Nope. No. Oh dear god. I was not in the right office...
Camie ends up landing her dream job, working for Grayson,
the distant boss which she tries so hard to break . She has a crush on him
longer than Grayson has anticipated but we as readers soon find out that Grayson is no innocent and has been involved in Cammie’s life more than she
realises. Whilst on the pursuit to seduce Grayson, Cammie is saving to go to
her dream city , Paris and we as a reader are constantly reminded of the closer
she is getting to her dream trip the more sucess she is getting to seduce Grayson.
He was the Mr Darcy to my Elizabeth Bennet, the price Charming to my Cinderella, the ron weasley to my Hermoine Granger.
Grayson is your typical Boss – powerful. However he is
relationship with Cammie is unconventional and is more than the typical employee and employer relationship as he is best friends with her older sister Brooklyn Heart.He parades different women in and out of his office in order to keep Cammie at arms length. Little does he know
that it just brings her closer, more curious, more determined. He is a jealous character and a real HOTTIE in
the whole persona he creates.
"Your such a liar, Grayson."
"You know what else I am Cammie?" he asked leaning an inch closer.
"Your boss."
I love both the characters , Cammie and Grayson and but felt sad not to see a sequel to their story. it had left us readers wanting to know more and see more of how their relationship is when they are together . We are not shown enough of them in my opinion but nevertheless it was still a satisfying ending.
This book reminds me of why I love the whole boss ,
employee, older hero younger heroine romances because it is forbidden,
difficult and tension between the two characters is so FUSTRATING, all the things needed to
create a SWOON WORTHY, FUN , EXCITING and EPIC romance novel and R S Grey has
done it again. LOVED this book, would recommend it to fans of HERO by Samantha Young
as it has a similar vibe.
